When Annie visited, we couldn't resist a little collaborative crafting project. We chatted through ideas about what we would like to make, and settled upon a shopping bag, which would be simple, useful and fun to customise.
After a little research, we had clarified our thoughts and together we designed a pattern. We thought that it would be interesting to both make a bag using the same pattern, but each with our own choices of fabric and detailing.
Annie had brought some material with her, and after a rummage through my stash, we had each selected a fabric for the bag, the lining and the straps.
Using the pattern (much to Annie's dismay!) we pinned and cut out our pieces. I fussy cut the front of my bag to ensure that the pattern was central, and Annie cut out a flower motif from her lining to bondaweb onto the front of her bag.
We then stitched the pieces together, Annie showing me a fancy trick to sew the outer and lining together.
We will be back soon to show you the finished articles...
